Y Class Locomotive - Narrow Gauge
The Y Class was the first "mainline" diesel loco to start work on the narrow gauge lines in WA during 1953, there was another narrow gauge diesel which commenced work roughly about the same time. This diesel being the small Z Class worked within the confines of the Port of Fremantle at that time as a shunter.
